NFL Divisional Round Picks: Who Will Advance? | Jimmy Kempski (2026)

Ready for some NFL Divisional Round picks? Let's dive into the matchups and see what the experts are predicting! This is where the real football action heats up, and every game counts.

Bills at Broncos (-1.5): The Broncos' defense has been a force to be reckoned with, especially their pass rush. They led the league with a staggering 68 sacks this season, while also keeping their quarterback remarkably clean, allowing only 23 sacks. This resulted in a massive sack differential of +45, or 2.6 more sacks per game than their opponents. This ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks and protect their own is a significant advantage. But here's where it gets controversial: despite the Broncos' defensive prowess, I'm leaning towards the Bills. Why? Because I'm putting my trust in Josh Allen's playoff experience. Allen has been a proven winner in the postseason, boasting an 8-6 record with 26 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions, plus over 700 rushing yards and 9 rushing touchdowns. While Bo Nix is playing in his second ever NFL playoff game, Allen has played in 15. I've seen Allen win a lot of playoff games, and I haven't seen Nix do that yet.

49ers at Seahawks (-7): In a Week 18 showdown, the Seahawks dominated the 49ers, showcasing a smashmouth, run-heavy offense and a relentless defense. The 49ers, however, have been hit with injuries, losing key players like George Kittle. They're also playing on a short week and traveling back from the east coast, while the Seahawks will be rested and fresh. I don't expect the Seahawks to repeat their Week 18 performance, but they are clearly the better team. Seahawks to win, but the 49ers to cover the 7 points.

Texans at Patriots (-3): The Texans boast an impressive defense and a regular season turnover differential of +17, entering this matchup on a 10-game winning streak. However, they can be unpredictable due to their inconsistent rushing attack and C.J. Stroud's tendency to cool off. The most critical matchup in this game will be Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter against rookie LT Will Campbell and almost 35-year-old RT Morgan Moses. But I'm leaning towards the Patriots due to the potential for sloppy weather conditions. I also have more faith in Drake Maye's ability to make plays with his legs in the cold. Give me the Pats to win, but the Texans to cover the 3 points.

Rams (-3.5) at Bears: The Bears have had an incredibly entertaining season with several comeback victories. But it's only a matter of time before a good team takes control and closes them out. That will be the Rams this week. Both teams like to run the ball, but the weather will be a factor, with cold and windy conditions expected. Caleb Williams is more mobile, but I trust Matthew Stafford's throwing accuracy and the Rams' receivers' ability to gain yards after the catch.

Survivor Pick: This week, the challenge is to strategically select teams, keeping in mind the need for available Super Bowl contenders. I'm taking the Patriots this week, with the Seahawks as my preferred Super Bowl pick.
